Our adhesive technologies

Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) Adhesives

Based on the reaction between urea and formaldehyde, these products are commonly referred to as urea-formaldehyde adhesives.

DAAS & Chemicals has chosen to offer only E1-class urea-formaldehyde adhesives, with particular attention to protecting user health.

We offer these adhesives in powder form for dissolution in water. Urea crosslinking occurs in the presence of moisture and heat generated by presses or through chemical activation.

Once cured, the resin is relatively rigid and tough, with good water resistance. Small quantities of vinyl resins may sometimes be added to increase elasticity, such as our GLUOVINIL 2201.

Urea-formaldehyde adhesive is one of the most widely used adhesive technologies in the wood industry, particularly for veneering and the production of particleboard and MDF panels.

Vinyl Adhesives

Vinyl adhesive is widely used in the wood and furniture industries. Often referred to as white glue, it has the appearance of a milky-white liquid with a characteristic odor that is generally neither strong nor unpleasant.

It consists of a water-based dispersion of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) resins and is not classified as hazardous to people.

It penetrates deeply into wood fibers, producing strong bonds that can exceed the strength of the wood itself.

It is widely used for bonding wood strips in the production of blockboard panels, chairs, and frames, as well as for laminating particleboard and MDF panels with paper, PVC, wood veneer, or decorative laminates.

For an effective bond, the water component must evaporate completely or be absorbed by the substrate.

Hot-Melt Adhesives

EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) adhesive is a hot-melt adhesive composed of thermoplastic ethylene-vinyl acetate resins. In some formulations, carbonate fillers are added to modify mechanical bonding characteristics and increase melting and setting temperatures.

It is a solvent-free adhesive and therefore requires no drying time. It can also bond non-absorbent surfaces and achieves an almost complete bond within moments as it cools.

Applications: primarily the wood industry, including panel edge banding and the wrapping of profiles and moldings.

PUR adhesive does not foam and is hot-applied at temperatures typically ranging from approximately 100°C to 140°C. It resembles conventional EVA adhesive but provides higher performance.

Applications: wood industry, wrapping and laminating MDF or particleboard profiles and panels, and panel edge banding.

Polyurethane Adhesives

One-component adhesives that cure through reaction with water in the form of atmospheric moisture, forming a very strong bond with excellent resistance to water, temperature, and aging.

Ideal for structural bonding in the wood industry, particularly for soft-fiber and resinous wood species such as pine, fir, and larch.

Applications include the wood industry; production of beams, roofs, gazebos, prefabricated houses, and stairs; bonding of fiber-cement panels, metals, and gypsum; and the production of sandwich panels with cores made from polystyrene, polyurethane, PVC, foams, fiberglass, or rock wool combined with various facing materials.

Polyurethane adhesive cartridges

Polychloroprene Adhesives

Adhesives based on synthetic resins and elastomers dissolved in solvents. They provide high flexibility and tack, together with good heat resistance.

Applications: upholstery, upholstered furniture, and production of composite foam panels.

Cyanoacrylate Adhesives

Cyanoacrylate adhesives are colorless, one-component products designed for universal, instant bonding.

Ideal for rapid, high-strength bonding of a wide range of absorbent and non-absorbent materials, they are water-resistant and suitable for demanding bonding conditions.
