The Controller has not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as this is not required for its activities.

What data we process

Browsing data. The systems and software that run the Website automatically collect some data whose transmission is part of how the internet works: the IP address of your device, the date and time of the request, the page or file requested, the response code, the amount of data transferred, the referring page, and the type of browser and operating system (user agent). This data is not collected to identify you, but could allow identification if combined with other information.

Data you send us by email. The Website has no contact forms, registration areas or newsletters. If you write to one of the email addresses published on the Website, we receive your email address and any personal data you include in your message, such as your name, company, role and phone number.

Please do not include special categories of personal data (for example, health data) in your messages: we do not need them to reply.

Purposes, legal bases and retention

Running and securing the Website

We use browsing data to deliver the Website, keep it working properly, detect errors and misuse, and protect it against attacks.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a functioning and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: server logs are kept for no longer than 12 months and then deleted, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident or are requested by the authorities.

Replying to your requests

We use the data in your email to answer your request for information, quotations, technical support or documents.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: for as long as needed to handle your request. If a business relationship follows, the related notice applies; otherwise the data is kept for 12 months and then deleted.

Legal obligations and protection of rights

We may process the data above to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Legal basis: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) and our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Retention: for the period required by law or until the applicable limitation period expires.

Cookies, analytics and profiling

The Website does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies, does not use analytics or advertising tools, and does not load content from third-party servers. We do not use your data for profiling or for decisions based solely on automated processing (Art. 22 GDPR). See our Cookie Policy for details.

Is providing data mandatory?

Browsing data is needed for the Website to work. Sending us an email is voluntary: without the data in your message we cannot reply to you.

Who can access your data

Your data is processed by authorised DAAS & Chemicals staff, bound by confidentiality, and may be shared with:

• Register S.p.A. (Italy), which provides the Website hosting and our email service, and our IT and website maintenance providers, acting as data processors under Art. 28 GDPR;
• DAAS group companies and local partners, when your request concerns their country or market and they are best placed to answer it;
• public authorities, where required by law.

Your data is not published or sold. The list of data processors is available on request.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area

The Website and our mailboxes are hosted on servers located in Italy.

If your request concerns a country where DAAS operates through group companies or partners outside the European Economic Area (for example the United States, Mexico, Chile or the Philippines), our headquarters may forward your email to them so they can reply. Requests are coordinated by our headquarters in Italy and only the information needed to answer you is shared. The transfer is based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission where one exists or, for individual requests, on the need to take steps you have asked for before entering into a contract (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).

Links to other websites

The Website contains links to third-party websites, such as Google Maps. No data is sent to these websites until you click the link; once you are on them, their own privacy and cookie policies apply.

Security

The Website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to server logs and to the mailboxes is limited to authorised personnel and providers.

Your rights

Under Articles 15–22 GDPR you have the right to:

• access your personal data and obtain a copy;
• have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed;
• have your data erased, where the conditions of Art. 17 GDPR apply;
• restrict the processing of your data;
• receive the data you provided in a structured, machine-readable format (portability), where applicable;
• object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest, on grounds relating to your particular situation.

To exercise your rights, write to privacy@daassrl.com. We will reply without undue delay and in any case within one month, which may be extended by two further months for complex requests.

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of the EU country where you live or work.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy, for example if we add new features to the Website or if the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
